The Saboteur Awards recognise innovation and excellence in the field of independent small-budget literature; particularly poetry, short fiction, open mic and spoken word… and the Arts Foundry would be overjoyed to be nominated.

If you have been published at the site, or your indie press or project has featured or will feature soon, then please think about mentioning us over at the Saboteur nominations page.

You could put us forward for one of the following:

  • Best Magazine
  • Best Collaborative Work
  • Best Wildcard

You’re invited to submit three nominations for different people and projects. This is to spread the love and show you take your literature and poetry seriously!

To remind you how all this started…

The Black Country Arts Foundry was set up by writer Louise Palfreyman to celebrate regional arts and promote new literary talent. Our team is made up of people who live or study in the Black Country.

Since our launch last autumn, it has been our pleasure to publish a host of new writers of fiction and poetry from the Black Country and beyond, and to write about art exhibitions, research projects, and individual artists.

The project is part of the Artists Access to Art Colleges Scheme (AA2A) and Louise is the first writer-in-residence at the University of Wolverhampton.

We appeared at Wolverhampton Literature Festival in January, and have read at local events in the region, including the excellent Permission to Speak in Stourbridge (also worthy of a nomination or two in the spoken word categories, we reckon).

So go on! Let’s celebrate regional writing and share with a national audience everything that the Black Country has to offer.

You can nominate The Black Country Arts Foundry at the Saboteur Awards website here
